Congress today said the party would ensure due representation of the people belonging to Scheduled Caste communities, and appealed to all leaders and supporters to get united for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
The party's Scheduled Caste Cell president K Raju said it would set up booth-level units, and SC leaders would be given priority so that party could win all 25 Lok Sabha seats in Rajasthan.
Raju was speaking at a meeting attended by SC candidates who contested the recently-held assembly polls in the state and workers of the community.
The UPA government's welfare schemes must be popularised and people living in villages should be made aware of their benefits, Raju said.
Rajasthan in-charge of the party's SC Cell Ruchi Gupta said SC women's representation should be ensured in the election process and politics.
