The NCP on Friday said the Supreme Court's directive that cases registered in connection with Unnao rape incident be transferred to Delhi showed the judiciary does not have faith in the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh.
The Supreme Court on Thursday transferred all five cases registered in connection with the Unnao rape incident from a Lucknow court in Uttar Pradesh to a court in Delhi with directions to hold trial on daily basis and completing it within 45 days.
BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar has been accused of rape by a teenager when she went to his residence seeking a job in 2017.
"This shows the judiciary does not have faith in the Yogi Adityanath government in UP. The government can influence the witnesses. Hence, the judiciary transferred the case to Delhi," NCP chief spokesperson Nawab Malik said.
"It is proved after the SC directive that the government was supporting the MLA, backing the rapist," he added.
The 19-year-old victim was travelling with her family on July 28 when their car was hit by a speeding truck in the northern state's Rae Bareli district.

Two of her family members were killed in the accident while she and her lawyer were critically injured.
The Central Bureau of Investigation booked Sengar and 10 others for murder in connection with the accident.
