SC seeks C'garh police action taken report on woman's
Press Trust of India New Delhi The Supreme Court today sought a report from Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM), Raipur, in Chhattisgarh along with all records, including status reports, and police action taken on the alleged gang rape of a woman advocate who tried to commit suicide before it on Monday.
A bench, headed by Chief Justice R M Lodha, also directed that the woman advocate, whom is undergoing treatment in a hospital here, be provided with protection.
It asked the victim to approach the Delhi Legal Aid Society for any legal assistance she may require in the matter.
The lady had yesterday broken down before the Supreme Court bench complaining "inaction" of Chhattisgarh police in connection with the alleged gangrape.
The bench asked the police present in the court to take her to the apex court dispensary after she said that she had consumed naphthalene balls.
