Scattered rains, dry weather as monsoon starts receding in HP

Scattered rains occurred at a few places and the weather remained mainly dry in several parts of Himachal Pradesh, Met department official said today.
Nahan ,Paonta Sahib andPachhad in Sirmaur district received 46 mm , 34 mm and 30 mm of rainfall respectively.
While Hamirpur recieved 33 mm , Dalhousie 22 mm, Manali and Kasauli 19 mm each.
Raifall at Dharampur was recorded at 18 mm, Nadaun 14 mm, Khadrala 13 mm, Mandi and Saloni 11 mm each, Aghar 8 mm, Ghamroor 7 mm, Kotkhai 6 mm, Solan and Bharmaur 5 mm.
The minimum temperatures dropped marginally and Keylong and Kalpa in tribal Lahaul and Spiti and Kinnaur district recorded a low of 10.5 and 11.2 degree celsius.
While Manali recorded a minimum temperature of 13 degree celsius,followed by Shimla 15.7, Dharamsala 16, Palampur 17.5, Solan 18.6, Bhuntar Sundernagar 21.4 degree and Una 23.4.

There was no significant change in maximum temperatures. Una remained the hottest during the day 35.8 degree celsius. While Sundernagar and Bhuntar recorded maximum temperature of 32.5 followed by Dharamshala 28.8, Solan 27 , Nahan 25.9 and Shimla and Kalpa 21.6 each.
The region received 576.1 mm average rainfall during three months this monsoon, from June 1 to September 1, against normal rainfall of 707.5 mm, a deficit of 19 per cent.
Six out of 12 districts had deficit rains while Shimla and Kullu received 19 per cent and 23 per cent excess rains.
Fluctuations from normal in Bilaspur and Sirmaur was 2 per cent and Hamirpur and Mandi had normal rainfall.
Monsoon deficit was 77 per cent in Lahaul and Spiti, 54 per cent in Kinnaur, 48 per cent in Chamba and 28 per cent in Sirmaur district.
Kangra and Una received 9 per cent and 4 per cent deficit rains which come under normal rains, officials said.
The local Met office has predicted rains or thunder showers at few places in lower, mid and higher hills over next six days from tomorrow.
