Scattered rains in Himachal Pradesh

Scattered rains occurred at few places in Himachal Pradesh today, while weather remained dry in rest of the state despite cloudy sky, bringing a marginal rise in mercury.
Rajgarh in Sirmaur district recorded 9 mm of rainfall, followed by Bhuntar which received 8 mm of rain, Kasauli 7 mm and Kukumsheri 3 mm.
The monsoon-rain deficit from June 1 to September 24 remained at 24 per cent with the region receiving 620.9 mm of rainfall against normal 822 mm.
Una in Shivalik foothills was the hottest in the region with maximum temperature settling at 32.8 degrees Celsius, while Sundernagarand Bhuntar recorded a high of 30.5 degrees Celsius and30.0 degrees Celsius respectively, followed by Dharamshala 28.2 degrees Celsius, Nahan 28.1 degrees Celsius, Solan 27.7 degrees Celsius, Manali 23.6 degrees Celsius, and Shimla 22.2 degrees Celsius.
Kalpa in tribal Kinnaur district was the coldest in the region with minimum temperature recorded at 8.8 degrees Celsius.
Manali and Shimla with a low of 12.6 degrees Celsius and 13.5 degrees Celsius respectively were colder than Keylong in tribal Lahal and Spiti district which recorded the minimum temperature at 14.8 degrees Celsius.
Solan recorded minimum temperature at 15.0 degrees Celsius, followed by Palampur 15.2 degrees Celsius and Dharamsala 15.8 degrees Celsius.
The MeT has predicted rainfall or thundershowers at few places in mid hills for the next two days and dry weather in the region for six days.
