According to a statement issued by the miner, the decision was taken after a review meeting of projects and planning department chaired by N Sridhar, Chairman and Managing Director at the company's headquarters here.
"SCCL planned to produce 660 lakh tonne of coal in next financial year, which is 10 per cent more than the target fixed for the current financial year. Keeping in view of the growth of Telangana State, the SCCL planned this higher production for the next year to cater to the needs of power sector and other industries," it stated.
