School children lauded for honesty

Two students of a government high school in neighbouring Tirukanoor were lauded today for their honesty in handing over to police a purse with a cash of Rs 2,300 they found lying unclaimed on a road in their village.
Yogadass, a Class VII student, and Ranjit Kumar, class IX, were gifted wrist watches in appreciation of their honesty by local Congress functionaries, including Muthalagan and A V Veeraraghavan.
The two while on their way to the school yesterday foundthe purse lying on the road. They picked it and handed it over to the nearby police station and the police today traced its owner Radha.
Police said that the boys' honesty was lauded by local villagers.
The Congress team also handed other gift articles to them and spoke in appreciation of their exemplary work. The woman who lost the purse also lauded the boys.
