School education in Delhi is the best: Sheila

Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today claimed school education in the national capital is the best in the country.
While laying the foundation stone of a school at Jaipur Extension-II in Badarpur, she said the government is in the process of setting up of 100 new schools for which land has been allotted.
Dikshit said the new school is being constructed as per green building concept.
The new school building will help in developing an atmosphere conducive to learning, she said.
The school will come up over an area of 3000 sq meter and would have 30 rooms in two-storeyed apart from the offices, labs and public conveniences.
It would be functional within one year and the estimated cost of construction would be around Rs three crore. The construction is being undertaken by the Department of Irrigation and Flood Control.
Education Minister Kiran Walia, who was also present in the event, said the Directorate of Education has been concentrating on overall development of students.
The Education Department would ensure that henceforth focus should be on skill development which is going to be of prime importance in the years to come, she said.
