Schoolboy's death: Teacher held for negligence
Press Trust of India New Delhi Around two months after a 12-year- old boy fell into a sewer pit and died during a school picnic near central Delhi's Millennium Park depot, a teacher was arrested today for alleged negligence leading to the student's death, police said.
A junior engineer from a civic agency who was in charge of the said sewer whose lid was allegedly left open is also likely to be arrested, a police official said.
On December 21, Lavyansh, the student of an east Delhi school, died after he accidentally slipped and fell into a sewer pit during a school picnic. A case under Section 304A of IPC was registered in this connection.
The teacher, Devender Kumar, was in charge of the picnic party. He was released on bail following his arrest, the senior official added.
