"Hon'ble President Shri Sharad Pawar, on behalf of the Mumbai Cricket Association, has announced a scholarship of Rs 10,000 per month to Mr Pranav Dhanawade for scoring a World Record 1009 runs in a single innings," said MCA in a media release today.
"The said scholarship will be paid for a period of 5 years commencing from January 2016 to December 2021. The Association will monitor the cricketing and educational activities of Pranav Dhanawade for the said period," the release added.
The epic knock ended when his school declared at 1465 for 3, which is also a world record. His school went past Victoria's 1107 against New South Wales made way back in 1926.
Pranav now holds the record for the highest individual score in any form of cricket, bettering AEJ Collins' 628 not out for Clark's House against North Town in 1899 in the UK.
