At a symposium on space and space technology, Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) Project Director S Arunan, shared the success story of 'Mangalyaan', with the participants.
He said that the Mars Orbiter is the first Indian spacecraft to successfully survive the Van Allen radiation belts.
Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System's Project Director M Nageswara Rao said that many aircrafts do not take off due to fog and the ISRO is building a system to solve this problem. Rao spoke about Global Positioning Systems And Geo Aided Navigation System (GAGAN).
GSLV MK-III Project Director S Somnath said that the launch vehicle development is fundamental to space exploration.
"We will be using this Geo-Synchronous Launch Vehicle (GSLV) for our ambitious mission 'Chandrayan-II', he said, adding that GSLV-D6 would be launched soon.
P G Diwakar representing the National Remote Sensing Centre of India, said that ISRO has collected around 1,275 terabytes of data since 1979 by mapping natural resources using satellites.
