The boy, who fled from the spot after the incident this afternoon, was later detained by police, said Jalalpore police station inspector A P Samaiya.
The gory incident took place near the boy's house in Nava Mohalla area when Maltiben Halpati (75) and Manoj Rathod (45) pulled him up for attacking his parents over a petty issue.
According to police, both of them were hacked to death by the accused using an axe.
Explaining the sequence of events, the police officer said the boy had yesterday bought a new pair of jeans as a Diwali gift for himself and kept them in a cupboard inside his house.

"However, his younger brother wore the pants today morning, following which he picked up a fight with him. When their parents intervened, the boy told them that he had bought them from his own money and it belonged to him only. When his mother slapped him for misbehaving, the boy got angry and hit her back," the police inspector said.
"After hearing the quarrel, Maltiben and Manoj, who lived nearby, rushed to the spot and scolded the boy for his act. But, he did not like their intervention and attacked them with his axe," said Samaiya.
As per the FIR filed by Maltiben's daughter Bhikhi, the teenager first hit Maltiben with the axe on her head and then Manoj, resulting in their death instantaneously.
"Though the boy ran away after the murders, he was nabbed by us this evening. Since he is a minor, we will follow the procedures as prescribed by the Juvenile Justice Board," said Samaiya.
