Capital markets regulator Sebi on Friday said the generation of SCORES credentials has now been automated for all new registered intermediaries.

"SCORES user id and password details shall be sent to all new Sebi registered intermediaries through an auto-generated e-mail upon completion of process of online grant of registration by Sebi," the regulator said in a circular.

This has been done to streamline the process of providing SCORES credentials in the interest of investors, the circular added.

SCORES is the online complaint redressal system of Sebi.

Complaints received by Sebi in SCORES are electronically forwarded to listed companies which in turn are required to resolve the same and furnish the Action Taken Report in electronic form.

SCORES user id and password details will be sent to the e-mail id of the contact person or compliance officer as provided in the online registration form.

Besides, "all existing and new Sebi registered intermediaries will now be able to update their primary e-mail address and registered address on their own," Sebi said.

The primary e-mail address in SCORES is the e-mail ID where notifications related to SCORES complaints are sent to the intermediary.

The regulator in 2014 had directed listed companies as well as registered intermediaries to send prescribed forms to Sebi in order to obtain SCORES user id and password.

In view of the automation of generation of SCORES credentials for intermediaries, they will no longer be required to send prescribed forms to the regulator.

However, all listed companies shall continue to follow the process of sending hard copy of prescribed form to Sebi and email to scores@sebi.gov.in for obtaining SCORES credentials, Sebi noted.
