Around 445 office-based roles are expected be shifted out of the UK capital as part of a deal being struck between the Mayor's Office for Policing and Crime (Mopac) and Shared Services Connected Limited (SSCL).
"The contract between Mopac and SSCL is being finalised. Consultation is underway with staff," the Metropolitan Police said in a statement.
Roles in human resources, finance, payroll and IT-related departments are likely to be moved, the Evening Standard reported.
It is the Met's latest cost-cutting move, amid expectations it will lose up to 800 million pounds more in the UK government's autumn spending review.

According to the newspaper, the plan, assessed by the force's Investment and Resources Board, is based on "the assumption that transferred staff will not transfer to the new location(s) and will therefore be made redundant by SSCL... (therefore) overall net savings could increase".
The Met has not announced exactly where the jobs would move to after the new contract starts in October.
