Scrapping of Rs 500, Rs 1,000 notes a milestone: Fadnavis

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today hailed as a "milestone in nation's progress" the demonetisation of currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
"Historic and courageous decision on Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes to stop corruption and flow of black money. *Hats off* Hon @narendramodi ji !," the CM tweeted.
"People of our nation would support and participate like true soldiers in this war against black money. This is a milestone in nation's progress," he said.

Meanwhile, hailing Central government's "intention"
behind demonetisation of Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 currency notes, Shiv Sena today said it hoped that the common man does not get adversely affected by the decision.
"The intention behind the government's decision seems to be good, however, the issue is very complex. We need to wait and watch to see how does common man get affected to it. We hope that middle class people are not adversely affected by the decision," Sena spokesperson Neelam Gorhe told
