The South Delhi Municipal Corporation today approved the layout plan of two unauthorised colonies - Rajouri Garden Extension and Shakti Vihar.
Delhi government had regularised 895 unauthorised colonies in September last year and asked municipal bodies to prepare their layout plans for putting in place the basic infrastructure there.
All the hurdles in carying out developmental projects in 312 colonies, which came up on private land, were removed. Out of 312 settlements, 187 fall under SDMC.
The Residents' Welfare Associations of these colonies have approved the layout plan prepared in consultation with the School of Planning and Architecture on the basis of boundary finalised by the government.
In the case of Rajouri Garden, the colony falls under gross residential area land use and as per the regulations, all residential buildings shall be regularised, officials said.
However, Shakti Vihar in Meethapur, Badarpur falls under zone O of the Zonal Development Plan, which means its land use is undefined. Here, DDA shall change the land use norm of the colony.
Both the colonies have been directed to maintain the minimum width of internal roads at minimum 6 meter and development charges will be collected from them with effect from September 4, 2012 that is the date of the regularisation of the colony.
