Mayor of South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) Shyam Sharma named the road, linking Najafgarh to Kakrola where the fireman lived with his family, as Shahid Hari Om Gehlot Road.
He said it will inspire those who fight for the interests of the people.
Two firemen, Gehlot and Hari Singh Meena, had died and two others critically injured after an LPG cylinder exploded when they were fighting a blaze at a fast-food joint in west Delhi's Vikaspuri area on February 24.
The Mayor had yesterday visited his family.
The road has been named after Hari Om Gehlot on the demand of the local residents and councillor. It will be a suitable tribute to the martyr and give a new identity to the area, Sharma added.
