"We are focusing on streamlining health and education facilities offered by the SDMC and bring in quality services for the people. And, in that direction, we have a target to achieve ISO-9000 certifications for all our health services in the next one year," SDMC's Standing Committee Chairman Satish Upadhyay told PTI.
After taking charge as the new chairman of the Standing Committee on Friday, Upadhyay has plans lined up for the corporation.
"We want to focus on health and education. Among others, our priority is also to streamline issuing of trade licences, he said.
"And, for streamlining that (maps clearance) we might even have to abolish some old laws, and if need be, we will do that as well," he said.
On heritage buildings falling under its jurisdiction, Upadhyay said, work will also be done to create awareness about them.
"South Delhi has a lot of heritage buildings and therefore we wish to create awareness about the monuments and old structures and houses situated there through heritage walks and other programmes," Upadhyay said.
