SDO arrested for killing his wife, servant

A Sub Divisional Officer (SDO) has been arrested for allegedly murdering his wife and his servant at Lehra town in the district, police said today.
The Mansa SDO Sarbjit Singh was arrested yesterday.
On March 13, Singh had allegedly killed his wife on suspicion of her having an extra-marital affair, they said.
"On the day of incident, when Singh returned home he found his wife getting ready and applying cosmetics. Seeing this, he lost his cool and punched her in anger," police said.
Later, he strangled her to death fearing that she might lodge complaint against him for domestic violence, they added.

Police further said that in the meantime, his servant Jaswinder Singh knocked at the doors.

Suspecting that he might have heard her wife's shrieks, the SDO asked him to come with him with a spade on the pretext of carrying out some work as per the advice of a tantric.
He, then drove his servant to an abandoned place near drain of village Lehal and directed him to clean the earth with hands before using spade.
"When he was following his instructions he allegedly hit him with the spade, police said, adding following which he died on the spot.
