Sean Penn and I tried to patch up for our kids: Robin Wright

'House of Cards' star Robin Wright says she and her former husband Sean Penn tried to make things work despite differences for the sake of their kids.
The 47-year-old actress, who has children Dylan and Hopper with Penn, had an on-off relationship with the Hollywood star after the couple married in 1996. They got divorced in 2010, reported E! Online.
"Divorce in and of itself, and with children, is devastating. Worse than that. One of the reasons why we got back together and broke up so much was trying to keep the family together," Wright said.
"If you've got kids, it's a family, and you try again, and you try again. We did that for a long time. Sean sees the kids. They see him. They see me. We've all got our own lives," she added.

The Golden Globe-winning actress is currently engaged to her actor fiance Ben Foster. She also has a small 'B' tattoo on her left middle finger.
"Ben has an 'R' tattoo in the same place. I've been so anti-tattoos my whole life. But doing this felt right because we're not that traditional," she said.
