Search on for poachers

The Forest department here has launched a search for some persons, who had abandoned a country made rifle and animal skin, after seeing some officials at Chinnathdagam on the outskirts.
Based on information, some forest department officials had gone to the area to drive away elephants, which had reportedly strayed into human habitat.
Seeing the officials, a few persons escaped from the area, leaving some articles there. The officials recovered a country made rifle and air gun and skin of a deer and bear from the spot, department sources said.
The department has identified the persons, hailing from nearby areas, and search is on for them, they said.
