Second edition of TN Global Investors Meet to be held in Jan

The Tamil Nadu government today said the second edition of the Global Investors Meet (GIM) will be held here on January 24 next year.
Chief Minister K Palaniswami has allocated a sum of Rs 75 crore towards the conduct of the two-day meet, an official release said.
The second edition was being held following the "good reception" to the inaugural one, held in September 2015 under the leadership of then Chief Minister, the late J Jayalalithaa, it said.
An amount of Rs 100 crore was allotted then.
The 2015 edition of GIM attracted Rs 2.42 lakh crore of investment from domestic and international investors, the release said.
Of this, Rs 62,738 crore worth of investments by 61 companies were in various stages of implementation, creating about 96,300 job opportunities, it added.
