Second festival season begins in Ooty

The 10-day annual autumn festival, marking the second season in this famous hill resort town thronged by tourists from across the country, began here today.
A three-foot tall rabbit made of carnation flower is the major attraction at the flower show organised as part of the festival at the arboretum Gardens, where nearly two lakh flower plants of over 50 species are on display.
Popularly known as "Ooty" and Queen of Hill stations, the town during the nearly three-month long season usually attracts honeymoon couples, particularly from northern regions of the country, where large number of marriages are solemnised till the end of winter season.
The flower show was inaugurated by Nilgiris District Collector P Shankar.
