Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh are scheduled to attend the 'All India Conference of Directors General/Inspectors General of Police' that will take place between December 18 and 20.
Thakur and Aloria held meetings with local police department and other security forces, including the Border Range IG A K Jadeja and top officials of the Border Security Force (BSF) to take stock of the situation ahead of the meeting, an official said.
DGP of state CID Pramod Kumar said police as well as other security agencies have been put on alert.
"We have already alerted the state police, Indian Navy, Coast Guard, BSF and other security agencies, so that no one can infiltrate from the border on land or through coastal areas of state. We have also alerted the neighbouring states to remain vigilant and beef up security," Kumar added.

Apart from all DGPs and IGs of all the states and Union Territories of India, heads of National Investigation Agency (NIA), Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Intelligence Bureau (IB), narcotics department and various police training academies would remain present in the conference. DGs and IGs of para-military forces, such as BSF, CRPF and CISF will also take part in the event.
Union Minister of State for Home (MoS) Haribhai Chaudhary said, the PM has invited all the DGs and IGs here with their family members.
