"Around 24 points across city borders have been kept under surveillance. Hotels, lodging centres in and around the city are being constantly monitored," the officer told PTI.
Checking of vehicles entering and exiting the city and the districts including those arriving at the airport have been started, he said adding that several sand bag bunkers were set up at key junctures.
In Kolkata, city police's Special Task Force would keep a close watch on the movements of things besides, checking CCTV footages at different crossings.
Security arrangements in the city have been divided into two parts. One for the Independence Day parade venue at Red Road and another for the entire city
