The recovery was made when the security personnel comprising of Khunti district police and 60 Battalion of CRPF from adjoining West Singhbhum district stumbled upon an open wire, which led to recovery of the can-bomb in the forest yesterday, district Superintendent of Police Anish Gupta said.
The explosive weighed 50 kg, which was later defused by the bomb disposal squad, he said.
The bomb was suspected to have been planted by the ultra outfit People's Liberation Front of India (PLFI) under a kucha road to target the security personnel.
