The state police chief also assured that mechanisms were in place to tackle misuse of social media by anti-national and anti-social elements, and to keep in check radicalisation of the youth.
"The Unified Command Structure, under the chairpersonship of the chief minister, has proved to be very beneficial for cooperation among the police, the CAPFs (central armed police forces) and the Army," the Director General of Police (DGP) said here.
"There is a perfect synergy between the police and the CRPF, who have been working shoulder-to-shoulder for many years and coordinating at different levels to tackle terrorism and law and order situations," he said.
During the interaction, Vaid also highlighted the initiatives taken by the Jammu and Kashimr Police for maintaining law and order and better police-people relations.

Police-community partnership groups is an initiative in which officers have been directed to convene meetings with "respectable" citizens to understand problems and grievances of people in their areas, he said.
This mechanism has proved to be very fruitful as issues pertaining to the police department are redressed on the spot and those related to other departments are conveyed to their respective heads, the DGP said.
