A security guard, abducted by suspected Naxalites of the banned Tritiya Prastuti Committee (TPC) last week, was found unharmed in a forest in Ramgarh district, police said on Friday.
The TPC is a splinter group of the CPI(Maoist).
Additional SP (Operations) Gulshan Tirkey, who headed the Special Investigation Team formed to rescue the 32-year- old guard Raju Kumar, said he was found during a police raid in the forest on Thursday night.
Kumar works in a private firm that was awarded a project to construct a four-lane highway from Chitarpur to Rajrappa temple in the district, he said.
The guard was abducted on July 16.
Tirkey said suspected TPC ultras had abducted another security guard who was later freed.
Police have found pamphlets of the TPC from the area suspecting the abduction to be the handiwork of the outfit, he said.
