A security guard today foiled an attempt by unidentified persons to rob an ATM on Nemawar road here, sustaining serious injuries in the process, police said.
The miscreants entered the Bank of Baroda ATM kiosk and broke the security camera inside. But, while they were trying to break the ATM machine, the security guard stationed there raised an alarm.
That led the miscreants to take to their heels, but not before they had attacked the guard with a heavy stone, causing grievous injuries, Bhanwarkuan police station in-charge, PS Ranawat, told reporters here.
No cash was stolen from the ATM, he added.
The injured security guard was admitted to the government MY Hospital, police said, adding that an inquiry has been opened into the case.
