Security guard shot dead, cash van looted

In a daring daylight robbery, three motorcyclists today opened fire on a bank's cash van killing a security guard and injuring another and decamped with money.
The amount of cash looted from the State Bank of Patiala cash van was not yet clear, police said.
The incident took place near Alohran Gate, they said, adding, the guard was killed when he tried to resist the loot attempt.
