"The decision was taken by IG (Agra Zone) Sunil Kumar Gupta after he had a discussion on the issue with district police chief of Agra, Mathura, Hathras and Aligarh, as Yamuna Expressway passes through the territory of their districts.
"Two platoon of PAC has been deployed on Yamuna Expressway since it has become a sensitive route owing to travel of VIPs and foreigners en route to Agra", SSP Manjil Saini told PTI.
Earlier Gupta took a round of the Yamuna Expressway along with the said officers and discussed in detail the security measures to be taken up.
"Four mobile teams would now move between kilometre 65 and kilometre 130 milestones," police said.
The concerning police station have also been asked to maintain a maximum vigil. Security has also been strengthened on NH2, as high alert has been sounded in Mathura, they said.
