Twenty teams of Anti-Terrorism Squad were called and police personnel were deployed in plain clothes around the fair for strengthening security, Superintendent of Police, Jaisalmer, Rajiv Pachar said.
Intelligence agencies have issued alert during the annual Ramdevra fair following which security and vigilance were increased at the fair venue and the Ramdevra town, Pachar said.
Thirty two CCTV cameras and 16 other cameras have been installed to monitor the movement of pilgrims, and a control room set up there would manage the law and order situation, he said.
Meanwhile, in a special drive, police yesterday recovered two mobile handsets from the prisoners' cell in Jaisalmer district Jail, another official said.
