The security has been beefed up across Uttar Pradesh ahead of Independence Day tomorrow, an official said today.
"Detailed directives have been issued by Director General of Police office to all the districts in this regard," IG (Public Grievances) A Muttha Jain said.
While Governor Ram Naik would hoist national flag at Raj Bhawan, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav would hoist national flag at Vidhan Bhawan.
The tightened security arrangements were made as directives have been issued for anti-sabotage checking at the programme venues three or four hours in advance, he said.
It has been made clear that manual checking would also be done and no person carrying fire-arm be allowed near dignitaries.
The security forces have been directed to remain vigilant and intensify checking at railway, bus stations, airport, markets, cinema halls, malls, multiplexes and religious places, Jain said.

Strict vigil will be maintained on areas inhabited by illegal Bangladeshi migrants.
Meanwhile, directives have also been issued for verification and checking of chemical shops from where chemicals like ammonium nitrate could easily be procured, Jain added.
