Security tightened before R-Day

Sailo told PTI that bomb disposal squad had quarantined Assam Rifles ground where the main function would be held and 24-hour security would be maintained in and around the venue.

He said that foot patrolling and mobile patrolling would also be in place tonight while hotels and guest houses were also being checked to ensure that no unwanted elements were harboured.

Meanwhile, no person except bona fide passengers with air tickets were allowed inside the terminal building of Lengpui Airport near here since January 17 due to the coming Republic Day.
