Security tightened in East Godavari district for polls

East Godavari District Collector and Election Officer Neetu Prasad said here today that 9,463 police personnel and 33 companies of the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) was deployed in the district for general elections to be held on May 7 in the district.
In a statement issued here today, she said that "28 companies of CAPF have been deployed in Kakinada, while 5 companies were deployed in Rajahmundry, while 7,337 police personnel have been deployed in SP Kakinada and 2,126 in SP Rajahmundry".
She said that 60 flying squads, 19 additional flying squads, 61 static surveillance teams and 57 model code of conduct teams have been pressed into service.
