Security tightened in Mathura for festive season

The district administration has made elaborate arrangements and beefed up security in the city and nearby areas as several lakh pilgrims are expected to congregate in Mathura during Diwali.
"The security in the temples have been beefed up with the posting of armed as well as police in plain cloth in and around the temples," DM Rajesh Kumar said.
"Arrangements for plying of special buses for Vrindaban, Goverdhan, Gokul, Barsana and Nandgaon has also been made. There would be no dearth of buses for Vrindaban, Goverdhan Barsana," he said.
Besides, a massive drive against adulteration has been initiated by the designated Food Safety and Drug Administration officers to ensure sale ofpure sweets.
Arrangement have also been made to ensure that vehicle- borne pilgrims do not face problem here either for parking or traffic jam.
"One way traffic plan is being strictly adhered in Vrindaban, Goverdhan and Mathura," SSP Rakesh Singh said.
