The decision follows recent theft of a precious idol of Adinath Bhagwan of Jain community from a temple at Alod village in Dablana police station area of the district, she said.
The 'ashtha dhatu' (an alloy of eight metals) idol, believed to be 300-year-old and valued at of over Rs 2 crore in the international market, was subsequently recovered and two accused sent to police remand, she said.
The SP said a data of about 500 religious sites and temples has been prepared by the district police and guards would be deployed at those places.
She said in-charges of police stations, under which these temples are located, have been instructed to visit the places at night.
