During surprise raids conducted yesterday it was revealed that the firms or dealers were indulging in illegal sale and storage of seeds, non-maintenance of records along with stock variations and also violations of provisions of Seed Act 1966 and Seed Control Order, 1983, Vigilance and Enforcement Director General T P Das said today.
A total of 32 cases were registered and large quantities of various commodities stocks to the tune of Rs 16.64 crore was seized during the surprise inspection of 81 seed processing plants and seed dealers outlets, he said.
