Tin, nickel, zinc and select copper prices dropped at the non-ferrous metal market here today on stockist selling amidst lower demand from industrial users on the back of bearish London Metal Exchange (LME) cues.
The industrial metals were trading lower at the LME, supported by expectations of improving - if fragile - economic growth this year, and as traders expected a pickup in prices when China returns after a holiday week on Friday.
Tin dipped by Rs 8 per kg to Rs 1,520 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 1,538.
Nickel declined by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 995 from Rs 998.
Copper cable scrap, copper utensils scrap and copper wire bar moved-down by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 512, Rs 473 and Rs 540 from Rs 514, Rs 475 and Rs 542, respectively.
Copper scrap heavy and zinc softened by a Re per kg each to Rs 506 and Rs 172.
