Select base metals ease in listless trade
Press Trust of India Mumbai Select copper, brass and zinc prices eased further in an otherwise listless non-ferrous metals market here today on continued stockists selling amid subdued demand from industrial users in the backdrop of weak global cues.
On the global front, industrial metal copper fell to its weakest in nearly a fortnight in early LME trade with seasonal recovery running out of steam amid ample supply and only moderate demand from top user China.
Copper sheet cutting declined by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 385 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 388 and copper utensils scrap edged down by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 370 from Rs 372.
Copper cable scrap, copper wire bar, brass sheet cutting and zinc all softened by Re 1 per kg each to Rs 404, Rs 432, Rs 302 and Rs 153 respectively.
