Select base metals ease on lower demand

Select base metals declined at the non-ferrous metal market here today on stockist selling amidst lower demand from industrial users. Meanwhile, copper utensils scrap gained owing to good demand from consumer industries. The industrial metals were trading slightly higher at the LME amidst caution ahead of ECB policy meet outcome. Tin fell by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 1,462 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 1,465 and brass sheet cutting moved down by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 333 from Rs 335. Copper cable scrap, copper wire bar, copper sheet cutting, brass utensils scrap, aluminuium utensils and zinc all softened by a rupee per kg each to Rs 494, Rs 522, Rs 469, Rs 324, Rs 114 and Rs 148, respectively. However, copper utensils scrap climbed by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 453 from Rs 451.
