Select base metals gain on good buying

Led by copper, select base metals gained at the non-ferrous metal market here today on renewed buying by stockist amid good demand from industrial users, despite lower London Metal Exchange (LME) cues.
Meanwhile, nickel and lead declined on lower offtake from alloy industries.
The industrial metals eased at the LME on profit-booking by investors, though steady demand from top consumer China capped the fall.
Copper armiture rose by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 473 from Monday's closing level of Rs 470.
Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy, copper wire bar and copper sheet cutting all edged up by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 489, Rs 482, Rs 517 and Rs 470 as against Rs 487, Rs 480, Rs 515 and Rs 468.
Copper utensils scrap, brass sheet cutting, aluminium ingots and aluminium utensils scraps also inched up by a rupee per kg to 446, Rs 339, Rs 143 and Rs 120, respectively.
However, Nickel dropped by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 980 from Rs 985 yesterday and lead softened by a rupee per kg to Rs 134 from Rs 135.
