Select base metals remain up on firm global cues

Select base metal prices rose by up to Rs 3 per kg at the non-ferrous metal market today amid a firming trend overseas and pick up in demand from consuming industries.
Traders said apart from a firming trend overseas, pick up in demand from consuming industries mainly kept select base metals higher.
Globally, nickel prices jumped 1.7 per cent at the London Metal Exchange.
In the national capital, copper mixed scrap and nickel plate (4x4) rose by Rs 2 and Rs 3 to Rs 370 and Rs 900-905 per kg respectively. Lead ingots and imported were also traded higher by Rs 2 each to Rs 96 and Rs 102 per kg respectively.
Following are today's metal rates (in Rs per kg):
Zinc ingot Rs 110-116, Nickel plate (4x4) Rs 900-905, Gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, Copper mixed scrap Rs 370, Chadri deshi Rs 295.
Lead ingot Rs 96, Lead imported Rs 102, Aluminium ingots Rs 150, Aluminium sheet cutting Rs 146, Aluminium wire scrap Rs 146 and Aluminium utensils scrap Rs 144.
