Select base metals remain up on global cues

Select base metals remained up for the second straight day and prices rose by Rs 2 per kg on the local non-ferrous base metals market today on increased buying by stockists in tandem with a firming global trend.
Traders said sentiment remained firm after copper advanced in global markets amid falling stockpiles as investors await the outcome of the US Federal Reserve's two- day policy meeting.
Meanwhile, copper for delivery in three months climbed 0.6 per cent to 7,184 dollar a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
In the national capital, copper mixed scrap and nickel (4x4)rose by Rs 2 each to Rs 441 and Rs 1072-1073, while zinc ingot traded higher by the same margin to Rs 121-127 per kg respectively.
Lead ingot and lead imported also enquired higher by the same margin to Rs 140 and Rs 138 per kg respectively.
The following are today's metal rates per kg:
Zinc ingot 121-127, nickel plate (4x4) 1,072-1,073 gun metal scrap 227, bell metal scrap 229, copper mixed scrap 441,chadri deshi 285.
Lead ingot 140,lead imported 138, aluminium ingots 150, Aluminium sheet cutting 151, aluminium wire scrap 153 and aluminium utensils scrap 150.
