Select base metals rise on high spot demand

Select base metal prices rose by up to Rs 3 per kg at the non-ferrous metal market today on increased buying by stockists on the back of surging demand from consuming industries.
Traders said increased buying by stockists, driven by rising demand from consuming industries at domestic spot market, mainly led to the surge in select base metal prices.
In the national capital, copper mixed scrap and nickel plate (4x4) rose by Rs 2 and Rs 3 to Rs 367 and Rs 785-795 per kg, respectively. Lead ingot and lead imported also enquired higher by Rs 2 each to Rs 108 and Rs 114 per kg, respectively.
Following are today's metal rates (in Rs per kg):
Zinc ingot Rs 110-116, Nickel plate (4x4) Rs 785-795, gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, copper mixed scrap Rs 367, chadri deshi Rs 295.
Lead ingot Rs 108, lead imported Rs 114, aluminium ingots Rs 154, aluminium sheet cutting Rs 150, aluminium wire scrap Rs 150 and aluminium utensils scrap Rs 148.
