Select base metals rise on uptick in demand

Select base metal prices firmed up by Rs 2 per kg at the non-ferrous metal market today on increased buying by stockists, driven by pick up in demand from consuming industries.
Traders said increased buying by stockists, supported by pick up in demand from consuming industries at domestic spot market, mainly led to the rise in select base metal prices.
In the national capital, copper mixed scrap and nickel plate (4x4) rose by Rs 2 each to Rs 352 and Rs 788-798 per kg, respectively. Lead ingot and lead imported also traded higher by a similar margin to Rs 94 and Rs 100 per kg, respectively.
Following are today's metal rates (in Rs per kg):
Zinc ingot Rs 102-108, Nickel plate (4x4) Rs 788-798, gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, copper mixed scrap Rs 352, chadri deshi Rs 295.
Lead ingot Rs 94, lead imported Rs 100, aluminium ingots Rs 154, aluminium sheet cutting Rs 150, aluminium wire scrap Rs 150 and aluminium utensils scrap Rs 148.
