Select base metals slide on subdued demand

Select base metals prices drifted lower by Rs 2 per kg at the non-ferrous metal market today owing to slackened demand from consuming industries.
Traders said sluggish demand from consuming industries at domestic spot market mainly led to decline in select base metal prices.
In the national capital, copper mixed scrap eased by Rs 2 to Rs 363 per kg. Lead ingot, lead imported and zinc ingot also traded lower by a similar margin to Rs 87, Rs 93, Rs 103 and Rs 109 per kg, respectively.
Following are today's metal rates (in Rs per kg):
Zinc ingot Rs 103-109, Nickel plate (4x4) Rs 825-830, gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, copper mixed scrap Rs 363, chadri deshi Rs 295.
Lead ingot Rs 87, lead imported Rs 93, aluminium ingots Rs 156, aluminium sheet cutting Rs 152, aluminium wire scrap Rs 152 and aluminium utensils scrap Rs 150.
