Select base metals strengthen on global cues

Select base metal prices rose by Rs 2 per kg on the local non-ferrous base metals market today largely on a firm global trend.
Traders attributed the rise in select base metals to a firm global trend where copper rose after stockpiles decreased to a one-year low.
Meanwhile, copper for delivery in three months gained 0.4 per cent to USD 7,176.50 a metric tone on the London Metal Exchange.
In the national capital, copper mixed scrap and zinc ingot rose by Rs 2 each to Rs 439 and Rs 119-125, while lead ingot and lead imported traded higher by the same margin to Rs 138 and Rs 136 per kg, respectively.
The following are today's metal rates per kg:
Zinc ingot 119-125, nickel plate (4x4) 1,070-1,071 gun metal scrap 227, bell metal scrap 229, copper mixed scrap 439, chadri deshi 285.
Lead ingot 138,lead imported 136, aluminium ingots 150, Aluminium sheet cutting 151, aluminium wire scrap 153 and aluminium utensils scrap 150.
