Traders said besides increased demand from consuming industries, a better trend overseas after China's official factory gauge unexpectedly rose last month to the highest level in almost two years, signaling an improved demand outlook in the world's top metal user, led to the uptrend.
Meanwhile, nickel for delivery in three month rose 0.9 per cent to USD 9,855 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
In the national capital, copper mixed scrap and nickel plate (4x4) rose by Rs 2 each to 374 and Rs 841-846 per kg respectively.Zinc ingot also traded higher by Re 1 to Rs 109-115 per kg.
