Select base metals surge on sustained demand

Nickel, tin and copper surged at the non-ferrous metal market here today on buying by stockists amid sustained demand from alloy industries and industrial users.
Nickel and tin rose by Rs 5 per kg each to Rs 795 and Rs 1,415 from Wednesday's close Rs 790 and Rs 1,410.
Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy, copper armiture, copper wire bar and copper sheet cuttings inched up by a Re per kg each to Rs 365, Rs 359, Rs 350, Rs 393 and Rs 345 respectvely.
However, brass sheet cuttings softened by a Re per kg to Rs 280.
